Audi has just released photos of the Concept C, a concept for a future car from the manufacturer that presents a complete design reinvention.

The monolithic-looking car has only two doors and a retractable hardtop, designed to show the brand “taking a bold step toward a reduced and timeless aesthetic.”

It measures 4,520 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,285 mm in height, and it also marks “the beginning of a new design philosophy and, therefore, a pivotal moment for the Four Rings,” suggesting that the concept serves as a guide for how future Audi models will look.

The project was led by Massimo Frascella, Audi’s creative director. “It is essential to make our brand truly distinctive once again,” he said about the Concept C.

“It is the philosophy behind every decision we make, and we intend to apply its principles across the organization,” added Frascella.

The design highlight is the grille, described by Frascella as a fusion of two of Audi’s most famous grilles—the one from the Type C and the Singleframe that defined Audi’s design for decades—into a “vertical structure.”

The car also draws inspiration from other iconic Audi models, including the original TT coupe and the sixth-generation A6, while the wheels are heavily inspired by the early 1990s Avus concept.

Inside, it features minimal screens, with Audi emphasizing that technology should be present but not visible, keeping physical buttons integrated into the dashboard design. The central screen can even be folded away to maintain an even cleaner look.

The production model is expected to use the same architecture as Porsche 718 electric vehicles. This speculation was reinforced by Car Magazine, which previously confirmed that Gernot Döllner, Audi’s CEO, received approval to use Porsche’s architecture for its own sports car project.

If true, Audi’s Concept C could have nearly 600 hp. “The way we design our vehicles is the way we shape our company,” Döllner said, adding that the new design philosophy will be “reflected in the design of the company’s model portfolio.”
